Our plan for you in

MEXICO

DAY 1

Wednesday

Arrive Oaxaca by 4 pm

Welcome to Oaxaca City. Upon arrival, you'll be picked up by one of our drivers and take the 20 minute ride to our hotel. We'll get you settled into your room where you can unwind, relax, or choose to take a stroll around the neighborhood.

At 6 pm we'll meet for orientation and celebrate your arrival with a homemade mezcal cocktail. Afterwards we'll stroll to a rooftop dinner in El Centro.

DAY 2

Thursday

9 am: Let's start our day at our favorite breakfast spot, known for it's incredible homemade pastries, sandwiches, juices, coffee and more. If you need something before this time, you can head to our hotel's cafe and grab a quick bite or drink.

After breakfast we'll head out on a 2 hour walking exploration of the city. We'll stop at some local mercados, witness the architecture of this vibrant city, have some time to shop, before we head over to the famous San Domingo Cathedral at the center of Oaxaca and end our time in the nearby gardens, known for its extensive biodiversity and stunning display of cacti.

Lunch will be at an organic market, run solely by women. Afterwards, you'll have some free time to explore or relax. Dinner will be nearby this evening on a stunning rooftop.

DAY 3

Friday

Pick up is at 7 am! We're driving an hour out to Teotitlan de Valle for a morning hike in the mountains. The hike takes an hour to climb, we'll enjoy coffee and a light snack to refuel, before head back down. The total distance is about 3.5 miles.

After our descent, we'll head over to our friend Josefina's casa for a proper brunch made by her and her two daughters. We'll gather & connect over a traditional Oaxacan meal. While you're in a food coma, we'll walk down to the family's textile workshop, where abuela will show us how she's been looming wool since she was 9. Josefina will show us how they naturally dye the wool with plant materials before they turn the yarn into rugs, blankets, scarfs, wall hanging and more.

Post workshop we will head to Geranamo's mezcal distillery, just a 20 minute drive away, where he'll take us on his agave farm and share with us the ancient process of cooking & producing the infamous beverage.

After this long day, we'll head home & receive a special private meal on our terrace at the hotel, provided by a local chef.

DAY 4

Saturday

We're heading out at 8:30 am to get breakfast at another local favorite. Omelettes, smoothies, french toast and more await you!

You'll have free time after breakfast to shop & do your own thing. At around 1 pm we'll meet for a workshop with three women who have opened a coop for local creatives to come and share their craft. We'll get our hands dirty with an Indigo Dyeing Workshop, where you'll get to create your very own kimono. Snacks & drinks we'll be served to keep your fueled.

Dinner this evening is an 8 course tasting menu in a beautiful courtyard setting featuring unique takes on Oaxacan cuisine.

Day 5

Sunday

Departure! We'll figure out each of your flights times and schedule a transfer to the airport for you. If you're continuing your travels, transportation will be on you! If your flight is later in the day, breakfast will be provided at our hotel's cafe.
